Eco-Friendly Garment Bag Saves the Earth and Organizes Mom
Our find of the week is the Green Garmento! In honor of Earth Day, it seemed only fair to share a product that reduces plastic consumption. This is so easy and hip.
Retailing for just $9.99 per bag, the Green Garmento replaces the plastic bag that dry cleaners use to protect clothes — best known to Moms as a suffocation hazard to small children (unless, of course, you are Betty Draper of Mad Men). I have pulled hundreds of those thin, plastic bags from a collection
of clothes over the years but no longer. In fact, I actually purchased the Green Garmento over a year ago and only wish I’d switched sooner. How many plastic bags did we save so easily from the landfill this year?
However, there is more to love about this bag. The bag hangs nicely from the back of our closet door, converts into a duffel to carry straight to the cleaners and then the clothes come home in the bag — no plastic and our dry cleaning routine is organized. Win-Win for mom.
Note: We use Mr. Burch Cleaners in downtown Birmingham. They simply put our bag with the clothes and make a note on our ticket to return the clothes to the bag.
