Member Day 2012 Set for July 21st: A Great Day for Families

For one day each summer, Birmingham’s cultural attractions open their doors to members from other participating organizations. Member Day 2012, set for July 21st, is an opportunity for Birmingham families to visit the Museum of Art using their Zoo Membership or the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame using a McWane Membership and so on. One valid membership card and/or postcard invitation admits 2 adults and up to 4 children into every participating venue. It’s a once-a-year opportunity to visit an attraction (for free) and explore something new.  The day is a well organized introduction to the arts and cultural institutions in Birmingham and an example of support and coordination of 17 local groups.

Participating attractions and groups:  Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Alabama Ballet, Barber Motorsports Museum, Birmingham Children’s Theatre, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Birmingham Museum of Art, Scrollworks, Birmingham History Center, Sidewalk Film Festival, Birmingham Zoo, Embellishments Handbell Ensemble, McWane Science Center, Red Mountain Theatre, Birmingham Public Library, Southern Museum of Flight and Vulcan Museum.
