Vestavia Hills National Night Out October 2nd

Here’s a good excuse for a night out with the family and to bond with the community on October 2nd.

National Night Out is a program to help raise community awareness on crime prevention. The Vestavia Hills Police and Fire Departments are kicking off their own Operation Overwatch to heighten crime awareness and drug prevention, learn how to partner with law enforcement to keep neighborhoods safe, and strengthen community spirit.

You may well be thinking that Vestavia Hills is an azalea-lined suburb that is hardly viewed as a den of criminal activity, and you’re generally right. However, a skilled law force backed by the community’s support is an essential factor in keeping the area safe.  Organizers don’t intend to take their security for granted.

The free event will have food, activities, music, and generally pleasant atmosphere you expect to enjoy on a fall evening. The fun lasts from 6 – 8:30 at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church and is sponsored by Target, Two Men and a Truck, and Andy’s Nursery.
