Daytime Halloween Party at the Galleria; Afternoon Parade in Crestline

You don’t have to wait until dusk to begin the Halloween fun on Wednesday. Dress your little one in costume and take him or her to the Riverchase Galleria. Between 10 and 12 a.m., kids get free carousel rides and take photos with the “Eat mor Chiken” cow.

That gives you plenty of time to go home for naps and then get back out for the Mystics of Mountain Brook Halloween parade in Crestline Village. The parade begins at 4 p.m. at the Emmet O’Neal Library and is great fun. Parade participants will be throwing moon pies, Halloween beads and candy, so your little one is sure to get something.

After a carousel ride and a parade in the same day, everything else is gravy. You’ll have gotten a full dose of Halloween fun even if you have to end things early before your superhero becomes a little ghoul.
