There are advantages to having Southern Progress, publisher of some of our favorite magazines, right here in our backyard. One of the best advantages ever has to be an opportunity offered by the editors of Health magazine (a Southern Progress publication) for Birmingham women to participate in a diet program at no cost.
The program lasts 12 weeks and offers participants group sessions and free consultations with a registered dietician. You’re provided with the information you need to successfully lose weight along with quick & easy recipes. Get this: You can still eat some convenience foods and many of the foods you love (Do those come with a side of guilt, I wonder? Or just a heapin’ helpin’ of determination that comes from knowing you could be featured in Health magazine for all the world to see?). Whatever motivates you most, imagine how helpful these new practices could be for you and, ultimately, your family.
We moms all know how difficult it becomes to stick with a diet and exercise routine after children arrive. Between new baby weight – and let’s be honest, some of our “babies” are several years old now – and shuttling kids to activities, there seems to be very little left for us. Even if you’ve stayed active, we know there is a ”creep” of about a pound a year as we age. Health is giving some lucky ladies an opportunity to reverse that.
Participants should be 25 to 50 years old, seeking to lose about 20 to 30 pounds, and able to begin the diet in early May. This is a great opportunity to develop a support group and lose the weight, all for free and under the direction of some of our own city’s experts.
Sign up for consideration online at Health. A test group in New York already lost between 8 and 26 pounds each in 12 weeks. Why not be among the next group?
