This Saturday, membership has its privileges. Your membership to any one of several attractions in Birmingham gets you access to all eighteen of the participating organizations as well as some special entertainment programs.
Member Day is one of the best days to enjoy the city. You can make it a marathon and head from one venue to the next or take your time fully exploring the one spot you haven’t seen yet.
There is a wonderful series of performances and presentations highlighting organizations like the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival (children’s films), Red Mountain Theatre and the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. The collaboration among organizations is so refreshing and perfect for multi-tasking moms. Don’t you love the idea of watching a performance by Birmingham Children’s Theatre at the Birmingham Museum of Art or watching innovative children’s films at the Botanical Gardens? (note that Mountain Brook’s Village Market Day is also Saturday, so you might work in a few bargains if you head to the Gardens).
Below, we have listed the participating organizations and the schedule. Grab that McWane, Zoo or Museum membership card and discover all that Birmingham’s cultural groups have to offer your family. Not a member already? Member Day is a great day to join and full advantage of the fun.

Note to the Powers That Be: Member Day is a wonderful program that introduces us to all sorts of new venues via our favorite familiar organizations. But Member Day leaves us with that post-Christmas feeling, though – as in, why can’t it be Christmas all year long? Please consider developing a City Pass similar to that offered by some of our sister cities like Atlanta and Chattanooga. At the very least, create partnerships so that a ticket from say, Vulcan, would offer a small discount to the Zoo. That’s how you get a tourist to stay longer and spend more money. We BirminghamMoms would be great ambassadors for you!
