Enjoy Discounts Before the Holiday Shopping Rush

Gear up for a kick-start of the holiday retail season, October 27 – November 7th, when you can save on purchases and support the community.

The Junior League of Birmingham’s  Shop, Save & Share card is your ticket to savings at some of the most mom-favored shops in the city. Just look at the variety of merchants, all offering 20% off with the card unless stated otherwise:

Lilli Pad and GiGi’s, Cahaba Heights – 20% off and our favorite fine print, “no exclusions.”  Some of the sweetest layette sets in the city and non-Britney, mom-approved clothes for tween girls

Best Buy – 20% off games, just in time for Santa. TV mounts and cables are also included in the 20% discount, so if there’s a new flat screen going under the tree…

Mayer Lighting – because we will not dine under that old chandelier another year

Learning Express – besides Christmas gifts, don’t forget this is a great source for fall birthday gifts that aren’t the same-old, same-old things. Free gift wrapping.

Brio, Ashley Mac’s, Newk’s, Taziki’s, Lovoy’s, many others – besides shopping day breaks, plan for lunch with mom, date night, and girlfriend brunch

Mobley and Sons – the discount applies to purchases over $100, but who are we kidding? If you’re shopping here, you’re spending a hundred bucks. Go for an exceptionally fine Vineyard Vines tie. Even goofy college mascots look dignified on them.

Greenbrier, Peck & Hills, I.O. Metro, Z Gallerie – you could more than cover the cost of your card in a single purchase

SOCA – discount applies to denim only, but that’s what we want at SOCA – jeans for mom, NOT  mom-jeans

Anthropoligie, Ann Taylor, Gap, Old Navy, J. Crew, Belk – Get first choice before the holiday crowds hit

But perhaps the best feature of all is that the Shops of Grand River – yes, the outlet mall set to open in Leeds at the end of October – is a major sponsor and participant! That means you can descend upon the outlets stores with a discount on top of outlet prices.

The cost of the card is $40, and all the proceeds benefit the programs of the Junior League of Birmingham.  The card’s accompanying booklet includes a directory by location so you can plan your shopping circuit for maximum efficiency.  There are too many merchants to mention, so check out the full list here.

Look for the Shop, Save & Share logo in store windows for stores that sell the card. You can also order online.
