Holiday Celebrations in Trussville – December 11th & 12th

The Birmingham Metro area is large and has much to offer families this time of year.  Take a step out of your neighborhood to fully appreciate all that this great city has to offer.

As an example, THIS WEEKEND the Trussville Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Brunch with Santa and its annual Christmas Parade (3pm).   Ken Lass, CBS 42 evening anchor, is serving as the Grand Marshal and the parade includes the high school band, dance teams and floats from local businesses.  The parade is free and very family friendly.  The Brunch with Santa will be on Saturday morning at 10am at Heritage Hall (225 Parkway Drive). Reservations for the brunch are required prior to December 9th by calling 655-7535.

That evening at 7pm and again on Sunday, December 12th at 2:30pm, the ACTA Theatre (Trussville’s Community Theatre) will present the classic holiday story “Miracle on 34th Street”.  To reserve your tickets ($10/adult and $6/children) call 655-3902.

Additionally, the Eastern Women’s Junior Committee is holding its 9th Annual Holiday Tour of Homes on December 12th from 1pm – 5pm to raise funds for Big Oak Ranch.  Tickets are $12 each and may be purchased at local businesses throughout Trussville and Springville or by visiting www.ewjc.org. You can tour local homes in the Trussville and Springville area including 2 homes located at Big Oak Ranch.     Theseare beautiful cities perfect for a Sunday afternoon drive exploring homes and holiday traditions.

Of course, while enjoying these Trussville events you can easily work on your holiday shopping list at The Pinnacle (Belk, JC Penney, Learning Express) or by exploring smaller antique and boutique stores along Main Street. Visit GoTrussville.com for information about local stores and coupons.
