Alabama Theatre Holiday Film Series – Few things compare to watching classic holiday films and singing with the Mighty Wurlitzer in this grand old theatre. Films show daily at 7pm beginning December 10th, tickets $8. See the schedule here.
Birmingham Children’s Theatre – The Birmingham Children’s Theatre has two productions currently. Peter Pan, a childhood favorite, brought to life so creatively on the stage and Ho Ho Ho A Merry Mouse Christmas for your little ones (toddlers). Peter Pan is on the mainstage December 8th and 9th at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for adults/$10 for children. Ho Ho Ho.. A Merry Mouse Christmas on December 8th at 10am and 12 noon, Sunday, December 9th at 2pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children.
Birmingham Zoo – The zoo hosts several holiday themed events for families including Zoolight Safari – a Christmas light display unmatched in the community. Zoolight Safari is nice for a multiple generations with good walking paths and lights that ALL ages enjoy. Also, reserve your spot for Breakfast with Santa at the zoo on Saturday mornings Dec. 8th, 15th and 22nd at 8am, 9:15am and 10:30am. Cost for members: $14 adults/$9 children. Wacky Tacky Light Tour: The 2nd annual Wacky Tacky Light Tour occurs on December 11th and 18th from 5:30pm to 10pm. Meet at Avondale Brewery and then board a bus tour of the wackiest light displays in Birmingham. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 kids. Includes bus ride, party and tacky food! McWane Science Center: Several events punctuate the holiday season at McWane including the following: Breakfast in Santa’s Workshop on December 8th and 22nd from 8:30am to 10am. Cost is $20 adults/$15 kids (members save $5). Polar Express Pajama Parties on December 8th, 15th, 22nd and 23rd from 4:30pm to 6:00pm (movie at 3pm). Cost is $11 adults/$10 kids (members save $1). Snowed in Sleepover on December 14th from 6pm – 9am includes spending the night in the winter wonderland exhibit, dinner, breakfast, snack and Santa vs. the Snowman IMAX. Cost is $20 adults/$40 kids
Alys Stephens Center – This year, ArtPlay presents A Dickens Vest Pocket Christmas Carol on December 15th at 11am and 7pm. The classic holiday tale of redemption presented for families. Tickets are $10 for adults / $8 for kids and can be purchased here.

Hoover Library: Just for teens – Make Snow Globes on Tuesday December 11th at 6:30pm. Register in advance. Family Night and Jingle Bell Rock variety show on December 11th at 6:30pm. Greetings with Santa following the show.
Birmingham Public Library: Dolores Hydock presents Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory at 6:30pm (Central Branch). Family Craft Night at the Central Library on December 17th at 6:30. Holiday Christmas Cooking with Chef “E” at various branches throughout the month. Visit the calendar for all BPL events.
Vestavia Hills: Tween Zone – Gingerbread House Architects at 3:30pm on Tuesday, December 11th. Please let them know you are coming.
Emmet O’Neal Library: Bookplay on December 18th from 3:30 to 4:30 – Grades k-3, read any book about an elf, they will discuss and build elf houses. Elf house will be entered into a contest. Please register in advance.
