Favorite Children’s Book Author Visits Birmingham On November 19th

There seem to be thousands of children’s books and hundreds of very good ones.  Then, there are our favorites.   One of those favorite authors, Jan Brett, will be in Birmingham on November 19th.  Touring the country in a decorated bus to promote her new book, Cinders, Brett will be available at the Birmingham Public Library (2100 Park Place) from 6-8pm.  The first 100 guests will receive autographed posters.  The event is free and Books a Million will have her new book on sale.

Brett is a bestselling author and illustrator bringing to life beloved characters like Hedgie (the hedgehog in The Hat), my personal favorite.  She has over 38 million books in print.

This new book, Cinders, tells the Cinderella story with chickens as the main characters and set during a snowy Russian winter.    Take your pictures in front of the fan bus, get an autographed copy of the new book and introduce your children to a beloved author at the Birmingham Public Library.

Also, Jan Brett’s website has hundreds of activities and coloring pages for children.  I’m as excited to discover this resource as I am to meet her!

Tuesday, November 19th from 6-8pm at the Birmingham Public Library (2100 Park Place).
